What should I get my son for Easter? He is 16 months old and really his first Easter where he can enjoy anything I get him. I was thinking of getting him some Baby Einstein books and some new spring summer clothes. I don't want to get him candy because I don't want to introduce him to sweets just yet. But I do want to get him things he needs. I do have a few ideas for toys but I would like to get an idea from other parent's as to what you think would be a good idea of what I should get my son for Easter. Thanks

Michael K I am going to guess you don't have kids and if you do then I am sorry for them seeing as you seem like a JERK!!! It doesn't matter how old I am, and I don't care if he remembers it or not it is still nice to have pictures for him to look back on stop being rude. Read the question it says majority of the things I am getting him are useful things that he needs anyways so if you don't have something nice to say then don't say anything at all

It is just a tradition that my family has always done where we got a big easter basket filled with different things, but seeing as he is too young for coloring books, and I am adamantly against candy, I figured it would be nice to get him things he needed such as spring clothes because I am going to be getting them for him anyways, and he loves books so why not a few books or what not. I was not aware that most people didn't do a big thing for Easter, this is totally normal for me lol sorry I am just used to things being done the way I have always had them done for me when I was a kid and wanted to do it for my son.

Sounds like a good basket so far! How about a stuffed bunny or duck or chick? My 2 y.o. will get some sidewalk chalk eggs and probably some playdough eggs and some stickers to put in some plastic eggs for an egg hunt. His 10 y.o. sister is very excited to hide eggs for him!

What i bought for my son for his first easter was a bible with his named put on it. Not engraving, i cannot think about how they put his name on the bible, not stitching but i am sure you know what i am trying to say.

It is something that will last him a lifetime and has great meaning.
Besides clothes you could make up a basket with Some bath toys, bubble baths, Atleast a little chocolate bunny, books like you said and perhaps a cartoon movie.

sorry, I am a believer in the old fashioned sense.
Easter is about choc bunnies and eggs for children, NOT toys. Keep that one for christmas.
Clothes? You need to buy them anyway, they don't make a 'present', especially for a 16 month old toddler! I would keep the easter THEME at least.
If you don't want to buy him candy or chocolate, why don't you make some dyed boiled chicken eggs and decorate them with stickers? He'd love the colourful eggs, play with the stickers and eat something healthy as well. And he surely would love the egghunt!!

Easter is about chocolates and easter eggs, although you probably mean well, in a way hes missing out, personally i dont think 1 day of sweets will hurt him, he is old enough to have them. Anyway your his mum and the decision is yours

Baby Einstein books are good. What about a small stuffed animal, bunny ears, and plastic eggs filled with fruity cheerios. You could also fill them with those Gerber sweet potatoe puffs or fruit loops.

I wasn't aware that easter was a time to get or give gifts. i mean christmas makes sense because it's jesus's birthday...why don't you try a stuffed easter bunny???that's themed...or a childs book about easter?

set up a college or savings account. your 16 mo old needs nothing for Easter. i don't think that you understand the true meaning of the holiday.
