If you have Microsoft Word, just use WordArt for the design. You can make the letters in many different fonts and font sizes. Once you have decided on what to put on the certificate, type it in and print the certificates in landscape. I did some for my son's band instructor to give to the students and also designed some for class attendance at work.

Microsoft PowerPoint can also be used.
