Optical image stabilizers use a system of gyroscopes to compensate for camera shake. So they help with movement of the camera, not movement of the subject.

To capture fast moving subjects you need to use a fast shutter speed, something greater than 1/125 of a second, depending on how fast the subject is moving.

You can set the shutter speed in the Manual or Shutter Priority modes. Some cameras also have a 'Sports' setting in the Scene modes.

Good Luck

Not necessarily. The mega ois system does reduce the effects of hand jitter in most shooting situations. Unfortunately, it's not a cure all for every difficult shot. When capturing a moving object, you should pan, or move the camera and your body at the same rate and direction as the object to reduce subject blur. I'm sure that the ois will help somewhat with that. Using that technique, you will also blur your background. If you don't want that, try setting a faster shutter speed to capture the rapid motion and freeze it in its place. You may have to "give and take" a little with each of your settings and your taste to get the overall desired effect.

No. The Image stabilizer work by lower the shake produce in lens and camera. Not by the subject.

To make moving object clear you need bigger aperture and higher ISO therefore more light entering the CCD and shorter time needed to record the image (at right exposure)
