I think they get some sort of smug satifaction.
Oh, and there's a special place in heaven for people who try to convert others and are scorned. 'Course, I don't know how trying to use hell to scare people who don't believe in hell can actually work.

We don't save Atheists because we want to gain something - we do it because that's part of the Great Commission. It's just a fact that helping others is a naturally fulfilling and gratifying action, an effect rather than a cause of the action.

I gain the knowledge that I did the will of God The blessings I receive? They will come some day, some time, I'm not going to worry about it. The Bible says that we are to be about our Fathers (Gods) business. God is in the business of saving the lost. If God can use me to aid in saving someone, that in itself is a reward. Seeing that person changing, seeing such in Heaven is my reward. It isn't me that saves someone, it's God/Jesus. If the Holy Spirit leads and I follow...job done.

Nothing logically! But who ever said they see things logically. I think they feel that within their fairytale that they did a good deed and they are going dreamland that they have convoluted up in their head. Or maybe they think, since I did good for whoever, now I can afford to do some wrong, which is what I really like to do anyway, i just fight it because i am selfish and fear i don't go to a lap of luxury like i have forced myself to believe with a few hundred million other loonies! Yeah that's it!

First, We Christians don't save anyone. Jesus does. Christians are to point the way to saving faith in Jesus Christ. That is why the Apostle Paul said He planted the seed of Faith. Apollos watered but God gave the increase.

Personally I don't get anything from it. It doesn't affect my salvation at all. But if you saw someone drowning in a fast river and weren't in any danger yourself, wouldn't you keep throwing out a line in the hope they'd grab on?

It is the same as what one would experience from pulling a person out of a burning building. It is not what we gain, it is what they have gained.

If you can convince an atheist that hell even exists, then that person is not a true atheist.
