I was involved in an accident almost a year ago. At that time I didn't have any insurance. But the accident wasn't my fault or at least noone has concluded yet. About a year later, I received a call from a lady who works for ccs says that I own her company $7k because of that accident, because i didn't have insurance. does it sound right to you guys? I mean it wasn't my fault, so why do I have to be responsible for the cost of the accident? Please, if anyone knows about this, let me know. I'm so confused rite now. Thanks alot

the other side had insurance. and the lady from ccs said that this is the debt i owe to that insurance company (farmers). I do have the report of the police but there's nothing that said the accident was my fault or wasn't.

Send them a debt validation letter - make them prove to you that it is truly your debt.

Being in an accident without insurance may be a sticky point in this. Did the other person have insurance?

Do you have any paperwork from the accident, such as a copy of the police report, letters from the other persons insurance company? If so, and they state the accident was not your fault, that may help you.

You might send the validation letter then take a copy of their reponse plus copies of the police report, letters from the other persons insurance, etc., and speak with a lawyer.
