I run straight at it, leap in the air, and toss it to the ground...hard! Seriously, I use humor. You wrote a great question. I used your well put word "tackle" to make it a joke.
Try remembering that it's just a test, it's just a date. It is not the end of the world, or the conquering of it. What test, two years ago, made you panic? You can't remember? See? It's not that important. A romance two years ago makes you giggle now.
Next, have a little faith in yourself! Do you go to battle with a whimper or a roar? It's okay to be scared, but roar! And lastly, you need to do what I said at the beginning.
Lighten up. If a Tiger attacks you...panic. If you hear gunshots in the mall...go ahead and panic. If you are taking a test, engaging in social events, performing....don't panic. Who's going to remember in two years?
You could rip your pants out in class and the whole class would laugh very loudly and hard. It can be the worst moment of the year as you become so embarassed, or, you can stand, take a bow and take the laughter that will turn to cheers, because, when you're being run out of town on a rail, the best thing to do, is to get in front of it and make it look like a parade! Then you don't have time to panic!

That's quite natural - it shows you're at least interested. Don't worry about little things like that. I have been acting in amateur theatre since 1964, and I still get a little panic attack every time just before I go on stage. If you'd like to calm down a bit generally, make a chamomile tea with some honey in it. It's enough to calm me, so it will be OK for you. There are no risks of reactions with chamomile.

don't worry cos many many people are like you! Relax and reason with yourself "I have studied, I have done my part. I will do well! And if I don't, its not my fault either, cos I have studied and done what I could do!"
When I say that, I relax cos my conscience is clear :) and try going for a walk the night before the exams...its always more worth it than studying till daybreak and going for your exams in a state of utter panic and frustration.
About other things in life, do the same: reason it out with yourself. And remember that EVERYONE feels quite panicked some time or another.

Anxiety and panic is not abnormal we all feel this at sometime it can help you to tackle a challenge to conquer your exams, to make a speech in front of a large crowd,or to win at a sport this is called butterflies in your stomach your tummy is in knots this type can help you ,but if its the type that is keeping you from work turning you to alcohol or other illicit subtances get some help.By your Q.I think its the exams, so look at it as an aid to a challenge and to conquering your exams,So go succeed in your exams and Good Luck.

I study...and then think...either I got this or I don't...If I don't I'll study harder next time...or I'll study a different way...
I've always been a relaxed person though. I've never been worried about grades because what grade I got as long as I passed the class...didn't matter. Now if I was in a different field or actually cared what college I got into...then I suppose I would worry more...but what I'm getting a degree in...Graphic Design...I can go to a regular college or a Tech College...so my grades didn't matter.

test anxiety is an actual problem that i have had along with social anxiety and depression. if you dont feel like talking with a doctor to get meds like paxil which works for me. then what you can do to naturally lower your axiety would be cut down on the intake of caffine, get plenty of rest actually drinking more water will help considerably. alot of people that are cronically dehidrated are also dealing with anxiety problems. you could try meditation or sitting quietly by yourself and walking yourself through an exercise where you lay quietly on your bed or somewhere comfortable and start at your toes, curl them as tight as you can for 5 FULL seconds and then SLOWLY release, very slowly, move to your ankles and stretch them away from you for 5 secs and the opposite way towards you. always slowly. i will take you through the other parts and just remember slowly release and when you stretch tighten every muscle in that area. move to calves, thighs, buttocks(which is one of your biggest muscles that holds alot of excess energy so do this one twice and go extra slow on the release you should feel like you are sinking in to the floor flat), move to fingers(make fist(white knuckles)), wrists, arms, shoulders like you are shrugging and hold tightly, do that one twice as well. then neck, you should be able to feel your veins on this one and it feels really good. next is face start with lips (pout like you want a really big kiss from a niece or nefew), then nose (kind of feels like the same for lips), eyes scrunch them tight (you might see little fireflies thats a okay thing, then one of the best is eyebrows do them down like you are mad and then up like youare suprised. the last one is the whole face that you did already. by this time you will be more relaxed than you could ever imagine. i hope that this helped....

You need to start honestly acknowledging what it is that is making you 'nervous.' Are you nervous because you are not prepared? Because you think you will fail? Because why?
There are ways of working through procedures to allow oneself to not go into nervousness/panicking, but we need to acknowledge why you feel the way you feel.
Dr. Phil's book - Life Lessons, or Self Matters - I don't remember which will help you work through feelings and truths/myths about them....

yoga, it relaxes your body and mind.....however may be hard to find a place.... so try to just meditate
all you do is close your eyes and think of something beautiful, nothing else exists besides that thing and focus.... deep breathing also helps in through the nose and out the mouth
