For about a month now, I've felt this weird burning sensation under the skin on my right hip. There is no pain, and it doesn't hurt to press down on it and there's no rash on the skin. It's just this burning sensation and it's really annoying. It's not there all the time, it comes and goes and I find it's coming more often now.
Anyone know what this is? or how to stop it?

I don't believe that it's an allergic reaction.
The sensation is under my skin...not on my skin, if that makes any sense, plus i haven't switched detergents or anything like that.

It's most likely a nerve that's being pressed on due to inflammation in your lumbar spine or lower in the sacral area. It could also be myofacial adhesion. Treatment for both are available, PT could be very effective in a short time. A visit to the doctor to rule out any other causes or conditions is likely the best option.

Did you ever solve the problem?? I too have the same thing. Burn under the skin lower back right hip. No redness, dryness or rash. A burning nerve is what I think it may be but no back issues that would connect this. Seems to flare up every now and again and even clothing touching hurts the skin. Not shingles as there are no blisters or signs.

It definitely sounds like a nerve issue. It could be a pinched nerve but they usually cause pain. I think it's more like a sciatica thing. Physical therapy and even yoga can help. It's usually caused by a postural issue. The way you stand or walk or even sit can cause it. Are you wearing different shoes lately? Or walking more than usual? Look at what may have changed in the last month or so and see if you think of anything that's different.

It sounds like a nerve impingement - if you move your hip in a certain way the nerve can be pinched and cause the burning- see a doctor- it's not in the skin it's in the nerves.

it could be your skin that's causing the problem, which u feel as 'under the skin'. it may be some form of dermatitis. try using a moisturizer , if it still persists kindly see a doctor

I have heard of people spontaniously combusting into flame, do you think this could be such a warning sign??

Just kidding I don't really know.

It could be several things...go see your doctor..but don't get all worked up over it....it's probably something simple that can be fixed or treated.
