The very first martyr for truth is no other than ABEL..
He was the son of Adam and Eve. He became the very first martyr when Cain, his brother, killed him because of envy towards the TRUTH that God loves a faithful giver ^_^

Socrates was sentenced to death (and drank a cup of poison!) because he told the truth and wouldn't bend on his word. He lived about 400 years before Christ. There are probably others before him ... anyone?
