I just got an old 3D studio Max version 2.5 from a friend and tried to install it on my Windsows XP machine. Installation seems to go fine, until it tries to install Quicktime (And I have QT version 7.1.5 installed... the Max program is aobut 10 years old...), comes to a halt for a few seconds, and then claims to be done... And trying to run the app, the error message reads that the applicatiion is calling some non-existing address (00x0 or something like that) and could not be "run". I have uninstalled it again, but before I try to reinstall, does anybody have any ideas about what I can do to make it work this time? Should I uninstall iTunes and QuickTime first?

(Yes, I know that Max is at version 9 or something, but that isn't free...)

You possibly can if it is written for a FAT 32 system. If it is written for a FAT 16 system (DOS or Windows 3.11) then it may not run properly.

It sounds like it was made for FAT 16, I would just bag it, free or not.
