There's been talk about one coming out, but I don't believe it has. There are a few labs that will test your without a doctor's permission, but insurance will not cover it. You would be required to go to the lab for a blood draw.

You can try testing your body temp. Take your body temp as soon as you wake up. Do not get out of bed or move around too much. Do this for a week and then average the temps together. If its under 97 and you have other thyroid symptoms get your blood tested at a lab. You'd want it done in the morning and to have a TSH, free t4, free t3, and an antibody test

There is if you buy it online. Also some labs do it without a doctors order...Try quest and lab corp they might...but in the end you need a doctor to tell you what it means...Thyroid is a touchy thing...sometimes blood lab tests are not enough. If you just wanna do it to check it out thats one thing...but if you have real troubles or suspect you do Go to the doctor.

the only non-invasive thing you can have done for the thyroid is a thyroid ultrasound.. it's what doctors usually request together with the thyroid function tests which require drawing of blood. i think you can have an ultrasound done without any doctor's request. but it doesn't really give you much of how your thyroid "functions" especially if it is not enlarged..

no because you have to have your blood drawn and then the lab tests your blood to see what levels your thyroids are.
