What is it that causes people to drink and drive? And even more... Why don't the bartenders just take the keys as soon as you walk in the door? Why must they just serve them over and over? My vehicle was wrecked earlier this week because of a drunk driver... Why must they do this?

People are stupid. We can't blame bartenders though. It's not their job to determine if someone has had too much to drink to be able to drive. We can't hold them responsible for the actions of others. That's what police are for. Unfortunately there are so many stupid people who drink and then drive. Personally I think if you're caught DUI then your license should be immediately suspended. There should be zero tolerance for drink driving.

Okay, maybe it isn't the bartender's fault, but I personally believe that it is morally wrong to serve, sell, or drink alcohol.

By doing any of these things, you promote others to do the same.

First of all, supposedly, one drink is enough to effect your driving, and two is enough to take you over. That's bad.

Even if you can "hold your alcohol," you shouldn't drink alcohol.

Look at it like this. You are at a bar, and you have a 1/8 of a chance of drinking.
If you drink, you then have a 1/4 chance of drinking another one.
If you drank that one, then you will have a 1/3 chance of drinking another.
1/2
3/4
4/5
5/6
6/7
7/8
8/9
9/10

Drinking is wrong.

Just so that you know, alcohol id brain poison.

Now, as for prohibition, that's stupid.
You can ban alcohol effectively, and even if you could, you shouldn't.

I don't think that by banning alcohol you will help anybody, they'll find other stuff.
So, yes, I think that alcohol should be legal, but definitely not while driving.

Hopefully noone has taken any insult.

Good luck,
Peace.

Air-heads! That is what drunk drivers are, air-heads. They load up on booze and their only thought is of how they arrived at their destination. That's all. There is no more thinking involved, as to how they will get home. They drove there in there own vehicle and that's the way they will go back. In their own vehicle. Being enibriated is mindless and people who drink and drive dull there senses to this stage. A drunk driver's ego prevents them from stopping themselves from getting behind their own vehicle. Liquor dulls their senses and appeases them.

Many of them drink to release their fears or to boost their anger. A drunk driver only feels himself on the road, and that there is no one else out there during these times. Their vehicle is their refuge. Their refuge, whereby , they are alone and can vent and release their tension and anger. All they see is an open road.

The auto industry and the alcohol industry have just recently begun to marry after years of many fatal fatalities. Where as, they each performed solo. Bartenders and the rest of the alcohol industry are still at the drawing board as to how to stop the drunk driver from hurting themselves and others.

In a bar or nightclub or restaurant or hotel, there are many employees involved in preventing the drunk driver from creating these catastrophes. There is the valet, the bellman, the waiter, the waitress, the other patrons or even the consierre. So, you see, not only was the drunk driver at fault in demolishing your vehicle, but the whole staff of the bar or eatery, etc., were at fault as well.

I think you are wrong calling this "one of the main rules of driving". It is not even a rule stricktly speaking - it is not in the law in most civilized countries. You are allowed to drink some amount and still be law obeying citizen when driving.
Some people are fine when drunk, some peolple are crazy - alcohol just reveals what is inside. And it's definitely not the bartender's business to decide if you can drive or not.

Because in america we are "free" I know it sucks and I agree with you but things like that will never happen. People do stupid things and they learn at the cost of hurting other people. People usually drink and drive because they have no other means of transportation. (usually they dont want to spend money for cab) I used to drink and drive all the time, and luckily i never had an accident or never got into trouble. The only reason I stopped is because I was getting into law enforcement and needed too. I guess you can say that people are selfish and only think about themselves, not the other people that they are putting in danger.

I don't get it either
I had slightly too much to drink last night and I'm just on the verge of being over the limit this morning,
I need to drive this morning,
But i'm not going to,
I will be catching the bus instead and my car is staying at home until i'm certain that I'm totally sober

People are stupid and that is it, just plain and simple. Alcohol and drugs are addicting and people have been abusing them for centuries and will continue to do so. And it seems that drinking and driving is much like walking and talking, people just do it because they can. I am sorry for your loss, but it could have been your life or the life of someone you love. Think of all of those peoples whose lives are forever changed because someone decided to drink and drink. Good luck and God bless.

People are stupid and most people, 3 drinks down, feel they are invincible! They're really not thinking rationally and they figure, "oh it's only a couple of drinks, definitely won't render me incapable of driving my own car!"
Notice how we all have regrets?! that's because we don't think and act or we ignore a certain voice called reason!
