If He is the God of the Bible, then he cares about every aspect of our lives. All the things you mention are grievous to God's heart, certainly ... but you are using a human comparison to say, in effect, "I know God can only do so much ... He ought to spend His time working on the big stuff!" While no doubt God appreciates your advice, how do you know that He's NOT involved in those big things as well?
Ah, but He should stop them, you say. How do you know? How do you know He does not have a greater plan that all these things are a necessary part of?
This whole area - discussing how God can allow evil and for what possible purposes - is technically called "theodicy." It's a difficult problem, no doubt. But you don't make it any better by comparing what you think is a comparatively trivial problem. Put another way - with all these bad things in the world, why does He care about anything else at all? Under that "logic," we therefore should not pray, because next to the starving children, what grade I get on my next test and whether I flunk out of school are trivial matters indeed! How can he care whether I flunk out when there are starving children?

In my opinion, if there is a God, he/she is not worried about who we sleep with. If man was indeed created "in God's image," and man has sexual desires, then what would that say about God? I like to think that any God that exists is concerned only for my happiness, and couldn't care less if I found that happiness in the arms of a man or another woman. If I want to participate in some crazy sexual behavior, well, didn't God give me those urges in the first place? Wouldn't it therefore follow that if my urges are from God, then they must be natural, and good?
Oh, and by the way, whoever said in one of the posts above me that God kicked Adam and Eve out of Eden because of sex? They are wrong. They cited biblical verses to corrorborate that statement, and what the bible actually refers to is that Adam and Eve were banished from paradise because not because of sex, or because Eve ate some apple, but because of the fundamental sin of disobeying God in the first place. Original sin was NOT sex. It was simply doing something that God had explicitly told her not to do. Not "allowing" Adam and Eve to have sex would have been kind of counterproductive...wouldn't it? How would the world be populated?
Anyway, bottom line is, I don't think that God is concerned with our sex lives. If he does exist, he probably just wants all his people to get along, be good to each other, live morally upright lives (which you can do without being religious...morality and religion are not interchangeable terms), and be thankful for the good that we have in our lives.

it's not that the Lord doesn't care, he gave us commandments, we are the ones who don't care.
we were given choices from the very beginning. the wrong choice was made but God has also ALWAYS made a way back from the beginning too.
if there was no sickness, who would need a healer
if you were already saved, who would need a savior
if there are people starving, they should turn to the Word for meat. (always be feeding off the Word)
there is a song "consider the lilies"
it means that they do nothing but grow, by gods grace, they are fed and cared for and do nothing for that.
same with us. My whole life is a testimony. My husband is the sole provider for our house hold and we are short every month about $450 and somehow, the Lord has provided a way for us every month to make those bills. I don't know how, but HE has done it.
Believe God.
If he didn't care about sexual sin, why were Adam and Eve kicked out of the Garden of Eden. It wasn't an apple Eve ate. It was sexual sin. God's punishment is always according to the sin. She was "beguiled" by the serpent therefore the penalty was sorrow in child birth, if it were an apple, He would have had her mouth closed up or something. but she bare TWO sons, one was the serpent's seed and one was Adam's.
Jezebel was thrown out a window and eaten by dogs for the sexual sin she caused.
You think God doesn't care, He said, I gave her room to repent and she did not so because she LOVES the bed I will make her one. (YUP, FED TO THE DOGS) for being a part of sexual sin.

God cares about all aspects of our lives that affect our spiritual lives. I'm sure He doesn't care about how you do it, but if you're sleeping around on your wife for example, you're hurting yourself spiritually and hurting others around you. He cares about the choices that we make in life, we are His children after all.
As for why He doesn't intervene when all this evil stuff is happening, I believe that it is because He has given us full reign to make whatever choices we want. The murder, rape, etc. happen because some evil, selfish people CHOOSE to do those things. That's the terrible price of free will. God works in this world through people who CHOOSE to listen to Him and do what He says. By this, many people are being helped in their time of need. Christians are called "the body of Christ" in the Bible, with Jesus being the head. So WE as Christians are His hands.
So it all comes down to free will and freedom of choice. Ironically by this we learn that without Him, this life sucks, so we are much more inclined to seek Him. (not that this is the reason for all of this, it is more of an after-effect).

The truth is that God only cares about your sex life if you are a person who is trying to live by his standards. If you are not a person trying to live by his standards- it really doesn't matter what you do.
As for the suffering, He has promised to eliminate that just as soon as two questions have been sufficiently answered.
1) Can humans rule themselves without his guidance?
2) Will some humans worship him out of love and not just for selfish gain?
As soon as those are resolved, God has promised to rid the earth of all badness and all people who do not want to follow his guidance.
Thankfully, he does not make anyone do this- he allows us each to choose for ourselves.

Either the Creator of Heaven and Earth is so bored that He cares more about whom we sleep with than about the infinite other things that might concern Him, or...
Or else it's just His followers who have this problem.
Curing diseases, feeding the hungry, stopping wars, saving lives: all that stuff is hard. But pointing fingers at my neighbors because I disapprove of who they're sleeping with, or how their doing it, or think they might be having more fun than me, that stuff I can do sitting down! Plus it's much more fun to think about other people's sex lives than about all those terrible things. So which type of "sin" do you suppose my "God" is going to be most concerned with?

Because he made us with that desire and wanted us to have pleasure. Sin is the reason for the murder and torture in this world, not God. God does care about our itty bitty lives, regardless of what you think about him.

The Bible prophesies that godless world will destroy itself. That's why you're seeing what you're seeing. When the governments destroy religion and the one true one, then God will finally end wickedness. Man needs to know they can not live without God's direction. The only way this will be proven is when they destroy themselves.

God gave us free will. He isn't gonna take it back because we have used it for evil. That doesn't mean that he doesn't care. That said, sins don't come in sizes my dear. God sees murderers, rapist, and adulteress. They all have used the gift of free will for evil, and they will all be punished on judgment day.
