I have tried meditation and use of certain entheogenic substances...both with mixed sucess. I have had a few very deep spiritual experiences...but are there any other ways to connect with the 'god' and the univserse? Ways that are easier than meditation and more legal than substances?

If God exists and we are his children, it makes no sense that he doesn't visit each generation. Why kill humans (great flood) when you don't regularly show your face. If God is everywhere, then why isn't he HERE?

I am glad you asked. For me, I found the presence of God by receiving the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. The manifestation of the Spirit did not come to me until I prayed in tongues, although God has shown me that He came after I asked. He was there all the time, but my eyes were blind. I suggest that you go to a local Church that teaches about the baptism of the Holy Ghost. They will show you what you must do to grow Spiritually. I hope and pray that you will find our Lord through Jesus the Christ and His Blood. Have a good night and God bless. Write me anytime.

Sincerely Yours, Pastor Jeff Ludin

To connect with the universe...isn't as hard as people make it out to be. It's not about meditation or words or even a person/persons/god/goddess...it's about being alone and relaxed...and watching people, or nature...and coming to terms with your life and everything around you.

It's about slowing down and letting yourself just...be...like watching a sunrise when the rest of the world is asleep...or going out in the middle of the night in the summer time and looking up at the stars.

Religious people call it prayer, monks call it meditation, artists call it the zone...and sometimes it's known as spacing out...

It connects us all even if we call it different names or do different things during it...but we have to relax and let it come to us...you can't force it...and you really can't see it for what it is...until after it's happened.

It's complicated.

When you reach out to other people, and help them out - or not - you gain perspective.

Now, God - no, not even God, but the world - is way way bigger than you and I can ever get our minds around. You can only do it piecemeal, unless you're really really smart. (In which case you don't need my answer, anyway.)

So - a Buddhist guy told me once - sit still, and pay attention.

But it does take a long time.

How about reading the Bible? I've tried meditating to get me through my Physics degree but actually opening the books and reading it was more productive.

The most satisfying way I have found is through a deep study of the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses. They have studied the Bible so deeply that they can show you how to understand it very simply and you will realize how close to God the truth of the Bible really brings you. May God bless all your efforts.

Repent, ask for forgiveness, and ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart. Jesus promised the Holy Spirit, He said He wouldn't leave us as orphans. The Holy Sprit will guide you to what is right and what is wrong. Prayer is always good to keep a connection with God.

One "religion" stands out from all - Christianiy, having a real and true relationship with your Creator!

all the religions tell you you have to know God thru WORKS. thru ur own works or good works, or self-justification.

Jesus tells you just go to Him, and believe in HIm. becos you can never know God thru your own works!
