Of course a fetus is a child. He is born a living child, therefore he was living before he was born. something that is not alive cannot suddenly become alive!! Simple as that. As far as not being able to live outside the mother, there are alot of "alive" people out there that rely on something to keep them living.

It all depends on the way you look at it. A fetus can not live outside the mothers womb in the first trimester. It is very difficult to live outside the womb in the second trimester. So technically speaking a fetus is just that a fetus. Many religions believe the moment of conception you are a child and have a soul. In my opinion the moment I conceived my child she was just that MY child. Very debateable question.

Yes a fetus is a living, growing child no matter how developed it is. Brain function appears to be reliably present in the fetus at about 6 weeks after gestation and the heart begins to beat at 18 days!

Ofcourse!!!! You know the first noticeable thing of the fetus is its heartbeat. So a teeny tiny thing inside the mother's womb has developed its teeny tiny heart before anything else. And everyone knows a human is alive only when the heart beats. It's obviously a child breathing inside the mother's womb, no matter how little it is or whatsover is its shape.

From the moment of conception, you are carrying a living child inside of you. It has a heartbeat, and starting to develop the vertebrae even at the earliest stages.
