Hi, this is not a problem, This happens to everyone but some people just dont notice it. Do you have anxiety? I am not a Dr. but I know this is usually normal. Its NOT that it skips a beat its actually when you feel it you think it skips a beat because we dont usually "listen" to our heart and when we do we get scared because sometimes we think it skipped a beat. I would not worry if I were you. It wouldnt hurt to see a Dr. for him/her to tell you that your ok. You will see your fine.

I had the same problem as a child, and throughout my lifetime. I had an overactive thyroid which corrected itself with medication. I don't know if the heart thing / thryroid were connected though. Also anxiety/stress can cause your heart to do this. I found that drinking cold water always seemed to help when one of these episodes occurred. I know the exact feeling you are getting in your throat. Lay down, breath slowly and get your mind off it. I'm late 40's and probably have 1 episode a year, just like you, it's when I bend down suddenly, and I've even had one after I've sighed. Only a Doctor can know what the problem is. Good luck.

Please make that appt. for your dr. asap. Let the dr. know ALL of your symptoms, and how long this has been going on. It would be best for the dr to do an ekg, and maybe have you wear a holter monitor for 24 hr. Do you snore? Do you feel tired? Do you awaken in the night, a few times, like to get turned over to get comfy again? You might have sleep apnea. But, the important thing is to have your heart and blood pressure checked. And also, some blood work, just to see how you are doing. Please, don't be scared or nervous, just please get this looked at soon. I wish you the best. Take care.

It happens to me too, but usually when I am upset. Just don't stand up so fast is all.
