First of all, please relax.

Look, your case is no different than others. All over the world most of the bosses are ego minded people and ofcourse they have to be.

Put yourself in his shoes. Think you own the business and your assistant points out your mistake. What will you feel? Won't you feel embarassing? This is exactly what he feels.
It is not that he does not know his mistake, but the thing is that he feels that if he accepts his mistake, he will loose his dignity and ego. That's the only reason.

For any organisation, if the boss is caught making mistakes and he accepts, it may carry a negative meaning among the other staff about the boss. He is afraid that he will lose his respect.

I am myself have had similar experience. I was very much upset and then my senior colleagues advised me and not things are very fine i.e. very very good.

All that you have to keep in mind is that, around 70 - 80 % of your salary is for obeying your boss and 30% is for doing work. And then I started resisting/arguing with my boss and also continued the same level of performance in the work. I always started to obey his orders and talk friendly and gave him a pleasant smile. I took care not to annoy him and things changed compeletely.

One advice, when you leave the Office forget all that has happened during the work. Otherwise you will get depressed. There are lot of loving things to be taken care of while at home, enjoy them. Work and Home are two different things, do not mix them and screw your life.

Hope this helps.

Kiddo, you need to look for a new job. None of us are terrific to be around all the time (even me!!), but if he's getting worse, the handwriting is on the wall. It's not your job to "handle" him. If you do, you'll just continue to compensate, and work-around, and fume. This is not good for you, and not a career you should stick with. You've worked for him for a long time, and it may be a wrench to leave, but you've gotta do it. I don't know if he's going through a tough time, or if he is losing his memory, and it's not our job to figure that out. He's made your work situation untenable....go or stay. I hope you go.

Well guess what? He's the boss so you have to work under his rules... If he violate your personal rites or anything against the law then you have the right to tell him... Other then that, if you don't like his attitude, then just quit and find a new job... He's the one paying you for your time working for him, so just ignore it and take his crap... That's life... It sucks...

after 12 years, he wont change: don't even try to attempt that.

Rather if it seems he is getting worse with u, its because he feels that he can. In a very polite, non-accusatory tone, tell him what he is doing, because u have not committed any offense he may not fire u

if u cannot see urself doing this, think about changing ur job, but i mean, u have endured his crap for 12 years...u have the patience to with sand it.

If he's wrong, he's wrong. and you have every right to tell him so. I'm so sick of these egomaniac nitwit bosses who think that just because you work for them, that they have the right to push employees around. Its high time that someone put these corporate morons in their place.

Sounds a lot like what guys have to put up with when dealing with women.

We just try to put up with it until it drives us insane and we leave.

Hide your gun in the closet and smile, and then, suddenly leave.
