If you are in the U.S. or Canada, then the vast majority of openers (Genie and Chamberlain / LiftMaster / AccessMaster / Sears-Craftsman) operate at either 390Mhz, or 315Mhz. The rest of the openers from smaller manufacturers (Stanley, Linear, Moore-O-Matic, etc) use either 300Mhz or 310Mhz, with a few operating on 433Mhz as mentioned before. There are also a few very small manufactures, and a few older models from the "big boys", operating at various frequencies such as 308Mhz and 318 Mhz.

Although one manufacturer claims - the 390MHz band is used by virtually all garage door openers on the continent, other manufacturers use 433.92MHz. I'm guessing the frequency depends on the door. Sorry I can't help you further. Try a web search for Garage door jammer, some electronics sites I've seen have schematics for these. It might help, some, towards answering your question.
Good luck.

Maybe 4 to 6 times a day. Twice when you leave and twice when you come back. If you have to go to the store, add 2 more times.

There is a 90% probability that your remote control operates on 433.92MHz.
