My favorite teacher is my spanish teacher and she is pregnate. I wanted to have a surprize baby shower for her. She has the classroom we are in only for periods 1-3 and im in her 3rd period then Mrs. Heartz switches rooms with her. I asked Mrs. Heartz if she can call my spanish teacher Mrs. Herrera out of the room for 2 min so me Neila and Ashley can run accross the hall to Mrs. Paul's room and bring in the Baloons, flowers and the cupcake we want o get her. Then the rest of the kids will set up while I keep watch and then when Mrs. herrera comes in the whole class will yell "Surprise, Congratulations!" and stuff. Sounds exciting but I dont know what else to do or how to tell the class because they are kind of blabber mouths and i need it to be perfict. Now Neila keeps making the party longer and more expensive when we still have class and a budget. Please help?! Thanks.

I think thats very sweet that you are planning something like that for your teacher....god luck, and I know as much as you want it to be perfect, your teacher is going to appreciate the thought you put into it more than anything. I dont know if there is a way to do it without telling your classmates....knowing how important this is, i think they may be able to keep their mouths shut about it. And besides, if everyone throws in some money, It will take a lot of pressre off of you and your friends , and some of them might have some more interesting ideas on how to go about throwing the party! Good Luck! your teacher is very lucky!

It sounds like you have a basic plan, but tell Neila to slow down. You only have so much time and so much money to work with. Tell the class only a few days ahead so they have less time to blab. Take up a collection, tell everyone to just give what they can afford and use the money to get your teacher a gift card for a bath shop. Believe me, she will appreciate the few moments of peace she gets in the tub once her baby is born, and will remember your kindness and thoughtful gift.
You don't have to make it a big fancy party. The fact that you are doing this at all will be greatly appreciated by your teacher. She might even cry, pregnant women are very emotional.

First off, does your teacher follow a regimented curriculum? Sometimes teachers will always have tests on certain days and allow for a free day at the end of the month. So, if you can, plan the party on a day that usually doesn't have a packed lesson plan. Since baby showers usually have plenty of games, how about printing off the traditional word scrambles and quiz games but translating them into Spanish? Then, you are still practicing your Spanish for the day.

Wow. That is so sweet! I don't know how you can tell the rest of the class-would they really ruin the surprise? That's not cool. It sounds like what you got planned already is perfect, you don't need to make it longer or more expensive. One suggestion though, yell Surprise and Congratulations in Spanish-it is a Spanish class after all. I would tell you how to say it, but alas, I took French in school.

Just go with the basics. You have no idea how happy she will be just to have her class behind her. When you get up into the age that I am, 35, it all is appreciated so more because of all of the negative that occurs in life. Small things can make you happy, and in all essence it's small, until she has to start paying for the child. Support her and make her smile. That is all that matters. It is making me smile right now. My kids are 12 & 9. BE HAPPY. She doesn't need expensive, it is the thought that counts.
