I am now off my parents Insurance so I need to get some before I go on the road.

So there isn't any special insurance just for musicians?

You will be paying tons of money my friend if you really want good health insurance. You will be paying around $200-$300 dollars or more a month if you get one on your own. Call blue cross for more info. An alternative will be for you to get health insurace from your local goverment. Medicaid, medicare, etc should be available for you if your consider "poor" enough.

Try a search for insurance for the self employed. It wont be cheap (which is why, as a working musician myself) i am un-insured!
