There is no standard weapon for US police.
Each department and in some each officer decides which weapon they carry. Normally they will be S/W, Sig, Glock and a few others in 9 , 40 or 45.
a very few still carry revolvers but only a very few.

I do not believe there is a standard - My agency carried the Glock 45 model 27. Each individual agency has its own standard.

The full size Glock Model 22 in .40S&W caliber has become a standard issue of many local, state, and Fed. agencies. It replaced the old S&W Model 10 revolver in .38 special caliber.
