Stay away from all carbs - they'll make you sleepy.

Stick to proteins (except turkey) and veggies... but for being awake - caffine is your best bet. (Tea, coffee, cola...)

But really - lay off the chips, crackers, cereal, bread... carbs will just put you in slumberland.

Good luck hon. Peace! --De

Plain carbs will make you comfortable and sleepy--salty things somehow keep you awake. Pickles and chips help. One time I drove to Tucson and in a convenience store on the way I found something we used to eat when I was a kid--we called them saladitas.

They're made of something like prunes, but then soaked and I mean SOAKED in salt. We used to stick them in lemons, then suck on them, but for that trip I just sucked the saladritas, like hard candy, and then spit out the pit when the flesh was all gone. You might be able to find them in a Mexican food store. Unless your home studying right now!

Try some food items made of chocolate. I usually eat fruits with lots of water content and drink a lot of water to make me stay awake late night since i study from 9pm to 1 am.(keep your feet in a bucket of cold water when u feel sleepy.)

yerba mate tea. you can get it at the middle eastern market. it tastes a bit wierd at first, but i love it. its full of good stuff for you and has lots of natural caffeine. i drink it whenever im going to have a late night, and it never lets me down, and you dont crash shortly after.

to make it least bitter, steap it in hotter than warm (but not near boiling) and let it steap slowly for a long time. then i carefully pour it into my cup, to avoid getting the sludge from the bottom because it tastes like crap. oh yeah and its a loose leave tea, so you'll need an infuser ball. sometimes you can find it in bags, but its way cheaper and easier to find lose.

You're not going to find something that's going to wake you up right away. You're looking at changing your whole diet.

Food for thought:
Tunafish improves brian function
Peppermint improves memory

A quick pick me up from choclate covered espresso beans is always a good thing.

Lots & lots of prunes! But then you wouldn't be able to sit still to do homework!
I do not think there are foods to make you stay awake, unless you just react to certain things that way.Sorry!
