it should calm him down if anything but that wont happen straight away as it can take a few months for his hormones to settle down. it can also reduce the risk of prostate problems when hes older and stop him getting testicular tumours. if he never gets to use them he doesnt know what hes missing!!

Good job for wanting to get him neutered!! It is an excellent decision!

You do not need to worry about aggression if you get him fixed. Neutering male dogs makes them LESS aggressive and LESS territorial. Granted, he is still a dog, so he may be somewhat territorial, and if he is not trained properly, he could become aggressive. However, in general, it will help a lot to get him neutered. Also, neutering decreases his chance of health problems later in life and help make a step towards eliminating the dog overpopulation problem. So many homeless doggies are already in shelter because people didn't get their dogs spayed/neutered!

Id recommend getting them both neutered. Its not going to make them agressive afterwards. However if you dont get them neutered youre gonna have more probs besides agressiviness, and Im not talking about toward people more like territorial. Neutering generally mellows them out, Ive only heard of one case were the dog became worse, but they straightened it out with a couple training classes.

If anything neutering is the best you can do for your dog! He will be less agressive, not more.

From personal experience neutering your dog will not make him more aggressive. No matter what the AKC says it doesn't work that way in the real world. In fact it will be better for his long term health. The procedure is routine and he will recover very quickly. Have both of them done at the same time.

I guess that would be determined by the breed of the dog and its temperment. I had my Dog neutered and the only difference I could tell was he wanted to eat more.

Whoever told you neutering will make your dog aggressive certainly was not a vet or knowledgeable dog lover. Like the old song says: "It ain't necessarily so".

If anything, it will make him less aggressive because he will not have the strong desire to mate with anything that moves. And we all know the during mating, things can get real aggressive between males! Thank you for being a responsible pet owner. (standing ovation for you)

From my personal experience, my Chow was neutered and he still was the same protective dog, just wasn't looking to mate with everything, It was nice!

It will calm him down - big time - Out of the hundreds of dogs I've delt with I've never seen a dog turn agressive due to newtering

In the long run its much healthier for him & there won't be unwanted litters of puppies being put to sleep due to noone adopting them , Go for it !

No, it will not make him aggressive. It will help to keep him from wanting to wander, but if anything, should make him more manageable if he may have had any aggressive tendencies to begin with.

It's been my experience most dogs are not altered tempermentally by spaying or neutering.
