Rev.3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God,
and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God,
and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh
down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

Heb.12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, 24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things that that of Abel.

Rev.21:2:"I saw also the holy city,New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God and prepared as a bride adorned for her husband."
New Jerusalem is the bride of Christ, made up of the anointed Christians who remain faithful to death and who are raised to become kings and priests with the glorified Jesus (Rev.3:12,20:6).Just as earthly Jerusalem became the seat of government in ancient Israel, the magnificent New Jerusalem and her Bridegroom make up the government of the new system of things. This is the new heaven. The 'bride comes down out of heaven' not literally, but in the sense of directing attention to the earth. The Lamb's bride is to be his loyal helpmeet in operating a righteous government over all mankind.A blessing indeed for the new earth!

Yes, you are right. That's what Scripture says (Revelation 3,12; 21.2). The description could be allegorical or metaphorical though.

Many so-called "Bible scholars" make the mistake of interpreting stories and passages literally. They are not aware of a literary device used by Jewish writers called midrash.

Midrash is defined as a "reflection of Scripture in the light of the actual situation of God's people and the development of God's action on its history. This method elucidates the meaning of Scripture in the light of the later historical experience of God's people. This kind of interpretation often opens the door to embellishments of the sacred accounts, anachronisms and a freedom on handling and maneuvering the data that was at times a little too candid and very imaginative.
Peace and every blessing!
