Life is an opportunity given to a being , to perform the duties required by the surrounding environment . This is true for any living being and each one is created and programmed to do so . This secret of activity is called Karma in Hinduism .
Each living being is born on earth to do its part of the activity. It may be as mundane as reproduction , to as brilliant as the best scientist , or as great as a saint.
These activities , which are being done in this world , through each of us , irrespective of the fact that whether we are doing this consciously or unconsciously , is called LIFE .
This is the splendour , joy and secret of life . Living every second of it , cherishing the fact that you are performing a part , in this great mind boggling and apparently meaningless evolutionary change , gives oneself a great satisfaction . Which makes oneself eager to come back again and again in this beautiful world , to perform these duties and responsibilities.

Life is not to live but to feel. Feel the essence of joy, sorrow, companionship, loneliness, excitement, boredom, hope, despair, hatred, above all - Love. It is to realize and prove ourselves as as an integral part of the world.

Krishna
S
Ananda-Happiness.

Krishna's body is sac-cid-ananda, eternal, knowledge and blissful as per the statement of Lord Brahma, Isvara parama Krishna Sac-cid-ananda Vigharaha,

See below, Introduction to Bhagavad-gita-as-it-is
by A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada,
Founder-Acharya of ISKCON
(International Society for Krishna Consciousness)

When we mention the name Krishna, we do not refer to any sectarian name. Krishna means the highest pleasure, and it is confirmed that the Supreme Lord is the reservoir or storehouse of all pleasure. We are all hankering after pleasure. Ananda-mayo 'bhyasat (Vedanta-sutra 1.1.12). The living entities, like the Lord, are full of consciousness, and they are after happiness. The Lord is perpetually happy, and if the living entities associate with the Lord, cooperate with Him and take part in His association, then they also become happy.

The Lord descends to this mortal world to show His pastimes in Vrndavana, which are full of happiness. When Lord Sri Krishna was in Vrndavana, His activities with His cowherd boyfriends, with His damsel friends, with the other inhabitants of Vrndavana and with the cows were all full of happiness. The total population of Vrndavana knew nothing but Krishna. But Lord Krishna even discouraged His father Nanda Maharaja from worshiping the demigod Indra, because He wanted to establish the fact that people need not worship any demigod. They need only worship the Supreme Lord, because their ultimate goal is to return to His abode.

the essence of life is to be in communion,... with family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, enemies and especially, God.

to live life for one self is worthless,... If you don't agree, then try living by yourself, no TV, radio, internet or phone, just by your own plain self for some days/weeks/months. And see if you can still stay sane,...

To love and be loved.
To have compassion and be compassionate.
To be a good listener and a friend.
To do random acts of kindness.
To live life and give w/o strings attatched.

matter and energy. When we die our bodies will become ground, and then probably be used for a plant, and then end up in an animal, and so on and so on...

DNA. All life has it. Without it, life could not exist. In many ways, it -is- life.
