other men and the media (including women who volunteer to be eye candy) have not modelled to them that other things matter in a woman.
keep valuing everything else great about you and you'll catch an intellgent one , or at least one with some decent values about valuing womens personalities, one day

Guys look for the cute and or hot girls just like girls look for the hot and or handsome guys. It is a true early form of seperating those who have what it takes from those who don't. Some would call this discrimination--but, in reality, it is just simple choice making. Of course, you don't always find what you want on the first choice--or even the second. But, it is there, just waiting. Good luck!

Not all of them are like that, but you're right, our culture is WAY too focused on image and skinniness, etc. That's because of the media and "role models." You have stupid "role models" like Paris Hilton and Britney Spears. Anorexia is publicized. Drugs are common. Promiscuity.
But I guess I'm going on a tangent. I think the biggest thing is that "skinny is in". Girls nowadays have to work hard to look "pretty."

uh, i dont think alot really only care about the looks, the looks is wat attracts the guy to the girl then its the personality that is the determining facter in a relationship btw im a 14 y/o guy

i am also a young teen and think that guys do, it seems, judge girls by how they look
but as you get to know them and htey get to know you you learn a lot more about them and hopefully they find better reasons to like you then that you are good looking

I have to like how a girl looks, but there's more to it than that. Looks only goes so far, but she has to be at least as smart as me so I don't have to dumb down when we talk!

maybe to impress their friends? i never got that either. I find that it doesnt end there but continues into adulthood.
