I have been observing this raging war between evolution/creation, yet, i sometimes think that real appreciation for life, and freedom of thought is lost by some of both sides, I just would encourage both sides of this vociferous war, to step back, look at life and appreciate it for what it is. Why should I be offended, or offend, if you do not agree with my understanding of life?
Is not the fact that you believe enough?
Can we try to see, that, just because we do not agree on this point, it should not be a personal affront to any of us?

It seems, that, in my observation, we as humans have this flaw, where we take anyone else's views that differ from ours, as a personal attack on our character.
A belief system does not define who we are, we define what it is.
Does this make any sense?

Please, no attempts to prove either creation or evolution, I am just wondering, if there is a way we can eventually get to a place of mutual respect,
Does anyone else here want to try?

This my friend, is perhaps the noblest wording i have seen regarding this insult ridden topic.
The way you put it, is so, fresh, and uplifting. Yes, what a great idea. I do not know if anyone else thinks this is a good idea, but I totally agree with the basis of your concern.

I know many teachers, and generally, they say that the best method of teaching, is by illustration and example.
By this definition, both sides of this argument fail to realize, that the approach of attacking one another, merely causes a 'circling of the wagons', so to speak.
The art of persuasion is not a frontal assault, nor a river of condescention. It is accomplished through well thought out discussion, and respect for others to have their own opinions.
Time, does heal all wounds.
Time, also wounds all heals.

i will respect your desire not to "prove" either, but the only problem any evolutionists ever have with creationists (and vice versa) is that they want everyone's kids to be taught something they view as a complete lie.
this debate is different from many others that we have in our society. it has nothing to do with being personally offended by someone else's beliefs, it has everything to do with both sides being scared and pissed that the other side is trying to brainwash entire generations of children to believe lies.

what you are saying makes sense for adults engaging in debate, but the real issue is the future generations and their potential lack of morals/scientific knowledge.

I only know that both sides are realized only by a strong amount of faith.
