Who is providing her the alcohol? Why is she drinking? Is she depressed? Talk with her about her situation. Don't talk down to her? Ask her if she needs someone to listen. People who drink like that are trying to hide from something, or cover something up. If she doesn't want to speak to you, there isn't anything that you can do. If she is suicidal, call 911. Is she having difficulties in some aspect of her life? Maybe you can help her find someone she can speak to. Just let her know that you are there for her, and that you are concerned for her health and safety.

Firstly, 163 lbs at 5'4 is not severely overweight. It is about 20 - 30 lbs overweight. It sounds like she wants to live this life of drinking and being overweight, so even though you have good intentions, she probably needs to learn this lesson on her own. If you can talk to her mom or dad hopefully they can do something for her. Otherwise, just let her know you're there for support.

Maybe you should look at it from her side. If you had something wrong with you, would you want someone to always point it out? Without anyone saying anything to her, she KNOWS she is overweight. It is up to her to take the step in making herself healthy, just like it is everyone else's responsibility. She is no longer a child, and a child is the only person that is told what they should eat (by their parents/guardian).

Sometimes, things are better left unsaid. She may not believe you and think you are jealous or something because she is having a blast going out partying. Just leave her alone. Eventually she will get tired of that fast life and start looking at the real image in the mirror.

maybe you could print out the information on all the calories and other fattening things in regular soda and alcohol and give that to her. you could suggest that she drink clear Bacardi rum and diet soda. it has 0 calories, 0 carbs and 0 sugar. however, if you think she has a drinking problem, that is a whole different story.

Alcohol can increase her toxin levels and also aggravates her weight problems. Encourage her to seek responsibility for her own health. If possible, ask her to go to a treatment center for help.

Like any addiction you have to let them hit their own bottom. The best thing to do is to let them know that you are aware of their problem and care about them and ask them to try and get help. They will have to decide on their own, when they are ready.
