I'm trying to decide if I should get micros or tree braids done. I know what micros are like but I have never had tree braids done or have heard much about them until today.

I had tree braids for about 1 year and would get them changed about 4-6 months and I loved them (before I just had hair extensions) . My hair dresser braids the top part of the head and the back and intertwines the human hair into the braids. With the rest of the head she sews the extensions in. The braids look like mirco braids. When you pull the hair up it looks like you have micro braids and when you wear it down it looks like you have "normal" hair. Very low maintenance would recommend it. They really look like you have hair extensions more than anything.
