If God knows everything, did he provide the Bible to let us know what he wanted us to know? If so, then why did he leave out the bit about penicillin? Polio vaccine? Airplanes? How to do a coronary bypass? Computers?

polio IS still around. The govt stockpiles some for future examination. He gave you the knowledge to work you computer. He allowed technology to go from fire to a 747. The bible isnt a Handbook of life on Earth. Read it and find out what he wants you to do.

i think that was left for us to figure out. what would we do if he told us everything, how would life go?
and i think that suffering from different diseases is part of his system maybe. without pain and suffering, the good in life would not be a good, it makes us apreciate and value life and health, if we were all perfect, and he had told us all inventions, imagine a life like that, there would be nothing left. in life you have to overcome obstacles and that's what helps make you a better person, and appreciate things in life. and accomplishment ant inventing these things also helps build your character.
i believe that everything happens for a reason, and if my reasoning doesn't suit you, then maybe there is some other reasoning behind it. i don't know, i'm not god, that's just what i have gotten out of life so far.

God does not want humans to suffer. That's why he put us in paradise to begin with. It wasn't till the first human rebellion that he evicted Adam and Eve from Eden. The resultant sin made us imperfect. Hence diseases and suffering not to mention Satan's constant snares and influences. We have a hope thru his undeserved kindness and his son's ransom sacrifice to see his Kingdom here on earth as he originally designed.

To answer this one must know the nature of God. His nature is LOVE. Most people don't know what love is. They see sex or romance or some other human incantation. God's love is this: You are important to Him. Try this - the next time you want to say "I love you", say "You are important to me" instead. Feels different doesn't it? We are so important to God that he wants us to be with Him forever. To that end He has directed His word - our Bible. It shows what is important in life and what is trivial, or less important. Jesus said, (paraphrasing) "if your eye causes you to sin, GET RID OF IT....its more important to get into Heaven than to have two eyes". Polio, AIDS, cancer, etc, are NOT the most important thing, HEAVEN IS! When asked about sicknesses Jesus replied, "...this sickness is to glorify God"(again paraphrasing).

When some one is healed, God is glorified. When someone has faith in Jesus and their own salvation despite a great sickness, God is glorified. Glorifying God and testifying to His love is the thing.

Because all these things are invented by ourselves. God may never had any idea of inventing an aircraft. Before Adam and Eve were sent out of the garden of Eden, there was sin and no pain.

Definitely not.

And still God has to let certain things take their own course. People learn best the hard way.

I don't think the Bible was meant to be an end all book... just the book that points to salvation... It would be an awful big book if it contained everything...

He is sometimes too busy healing amputees to take care of everything.
God moves in mysterious ways.
