Hang on a sec while I reincarnate an old
copy/paste answer that still rings true for me.

True spirituality is a thing of joy and of the earth, and has nothing to do with fake adult dignity. It has nothing to do with long words and sorrowful faces. It has to do with the dance of consciousness that is within you, and with the sense of spiritual adventure that is in your hearts......your vitality is not dependent upon a physical image. It is not dependent upon your youth, it is not dependent upon your body. It rings and sings through the universe, and through your entire personality. It is a sense of joy that makes all creativity possible. So do not think you are being spiritual when you are being long-faced, and do not think you are being spiritual when you berate yourself for your sins. The seasons within your system come and go. The sun falls on your face whether you think you are a sinner or a saint. The vitality of the universe is creativity and joy and love, and that is spirituality...

-----At this stage in the game, my religion(fixation) has finally caught up with my spirituality and any difference is too small to be relevant.

-----on the other hand, you can say my religion is the practical and my spirituality is the ideal.

As differentiated from religion, spirituality to me would be connectedness with a person greater than myself. That would be Jesus Christ who is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Here is a broader interpretation of the word from Wiki.

Spirituality, in a narrow sense, concerns itself with matters of the spirit. The spiritual, involving (as it may) perceived eternal verities regarding humankind's ultimate nature, often contrasts with the temporal, with the material, or with the worldly. A sense of connection forms a central defining characteristic of spirituality — connection to something greater than oneself, which includes an emotional experience of religious awe and reverence. Equally important, spirituality relates to matters of sanity and of psychological health. Like some forms of religion, spirituality often focuses on personal experience (see mysticism).

Spirituality may involve perceiving life as higher, more complex or more integrated with one's world view; as contrasted with the merely sensual.

A common theme of spirituality in many traditions, is thus the path, work, practice, or tradition of perceiving and internalizing one's true nature and relationship to the rest of existence (ie, God, creation, or life), and of becoming free of the lesser egoic self (or ego) in favor of being more fully ones true Self.

Peace!
