Oh the boy who cried wolf .........tell your parents that you know they let you stay home already and you know that they do not want you to miss school again , but please hear you out before they decide........ now your on ....... tell them how important this project is and that you really need to do this and practice...further explain that you will make up all lost work you miss ..and do it....and last say I will not ask again if it is not urgent .... tell them this is not something you would normally ask so soon , if it wasn't so important ...if they are sappy like me ...........you are home free........if not ...well...

Gosh, does that mean I can call up work and say, "Sorry, I'm not prepared because I goofed off, can I have another day off"? The world seldom works like that. I think you'll have to pull an all-nighter, like everyone else does. Then maybe you'll learn to use your time better.

If I was your parent, I'd say that you don't get to go to your friend's house, that it doesn't matter what other kids do, and if you're not prepared then you have to face the music, because you deserve a symphony of criticism.

Oh, and learn to spell 'school,' btw, by going there. And your friend's parents aren't doing them a favor by teaching them it's okay to wait until the last minute and then blow off a day of school.

yep... I always told my kids that I understood about "crash projects", which is what it sounds like what you have going on.. Those, In my book were acceptable reasons for me to call and OK an absence.

I also told them that I understood about Mental Health days, when you just need a day to "regroup" and not go to school that day. And those were ok too on occasion. But ditching?????

Your butt would be at school and you would be working your butt off until the wee hours to prepare for the Sat presentation.

work out an understanding with your parents about needing a day once in a while. Prove you deserve it by not letting your grades slide and stop ditching.

Sounds like you shouldn't have ditched Tuesday for no good reason, you could very well be screwed. Just tell them straight out why you need to stay home and hope it works, otherwise you'll be real busy tomorrow evening.
