why can't we actually rest in peace when we die. Why do we have to go to either heaven or hell. Maybe you don't want to live forever. I mean even his life has been long enough as it is. Why can't you just lay to rest. Dead, over. Nada. Have nature do it's bidding. Maggets eat you up, but your dead so you won't care. You're body may be decomposing, but you'll be gone, and you don't need to continue to exsist. Why can't we just be gone from the world.

Christians plan to be gone from the world, only thankfully, we won't be greeted by maggots, but by GOD.

Actually, you might be really happy to know that the idea of the heaven/hell after life is more of a Greek/Roman philosophy thing than a bible thing. If you read the verses that specifically talk about the condition of the dead, it states that when you die, you simply cease to exist. Your body goes "back to the ground" and in that day your thoughts perish... which would mean that you, as a person, would cease to exist and your body would (assuming that you were buried and not cremated) rot and decompose. So, YAY for you! You will, at the time of your death, get exactly what you are hoping for!

There is one little detail, and that is that if you die prior to Armageddon, you will probably be resurrected at a later time... BUT, if you can keep yourself breathing until Armageddon, and you are careful not to take any interest in the bible or what God's will is- then you will die and simply not come back... Based on bible prophecies, it would seem that Armageddon will very likely be soon- (certainly in my lifetime) so you have a really good shot of surviving till then.

That idea isn't exactly appealing to me.

By the way, the whole maggots eating your corpse thing doesn't happen very often in America. In most states there is a law that makes it so your casket must be buried inside a concrete shell. I believe they do it to slow down grave robbers long enough for them to get caught.

Because there is eternity after you die your earthly death. While on earth you have two choice, to follow God or to not follow God, this determines your eternal place of being.

i have an naswer for ur question.

because god create our souls from himself. our soul belong to him, it is exactly like god, stay live for eternity. never die or sleep.

after we die , our soul completely become free from our body, and if we didnt made it dirty with our sin. it start to find its way in heaven. god go back very soon to his creator.

people who were good during their life, will face more peace when they die.

Don't be silly. After you're dead, you won't be anything so you wouldn't know peace, or even have conscious thought.
