He is 8 weeks. Vomiting occures after eating, not drinking for about a week now. Vomit is only the food consumed. After he vomits he eats it and it stays down. He does not have diarrhea and plays great. He has lost weight. I have tried changing his food today, to a natural balance for puppies. Any help would be great.

Hi there,
He has had water and he keeps it down fine. He has been de wormed and up to date on all shots. He has not been around any other dogs other then mom and litter mates. My mom said give him pedialite. Is this a good Idea? And is it a good idea to use a just born formula to supplement? He did eat just fine for about a week and half with no problems, so is blockage out or is it still an issue?

Thanks,

I recommend getting him into a vet as soon as they can see him, not all vets can see him that day or the next so be patient. Try withholding food for 24hrs but give him plenty of water. Let the vet know all symptoms and history on him including vaccine history, every little bit of info helps with the diagnosis.

I'd have a vet take a look at him but it sounds like puppy gourging to me. That's where they eat too much too fast and it upsets the tummy and it comes back up.

Try feeding him less but more frequently. Small, frequent meals are best for such a small puppy, their stomachs are too small to hold much successfully. If you're using kibble, try switching to canned.

But there may be digestive issues involved, such as worms,obstructions,etc... especially if he's lost weight, so it's always a good idea to ring a vet with any problem in a young puppy, things can go very bad, very quickly with the little ones.
