1) The activity of the brain comprises conciousness. Your memories make up your conciousness. In a sense your memories are your soul. I sometimes wonder if our own memories could one day be downloaded onto a computer before we die somehow creating a sense of immortality.
2) Your religion probably makes up alot of your character put religions change ..your own religion can change..you will still be you

1) Without memories, life is meaningless. That is the equivolent of being a blank slate. What is the point of truly enjoying something if you can't retain that thougt or feeling?
2) Religion is a particular way of worshiping God, therefore, i believe it can be done without. God's love should be in your heart.

Without either of those I wouldn't be who I am.

If your memories were taken away, the person you were would cease to exist to you, so conscious memory of who you are (self-realization) is what gives your life true meaning.

1) no, they make up a vital part of who i am

2) i dont have a formal religion, so yes, i would still be me without religion. i do consider myself spiritual though, and if this were missing i would no longer be quite myself

Well, yes. The way you have it phrased, anyhow. You may not be how you were in the past, but you will always be how you are in the present. However you act, whatever your beliefs are, that is how you are, even if it wasn't how you were, or how you will be.
