If you are packing these items in your checked luggage, they do not have to be in a clear zip lock bag. They only time they have to be in the zip lock bag is if you are traveling with those items in your carry on bag or your purse.

Hope this helps and have a great trip!

The clear ziploc and 3 ounce rule applies to carry on only. If your makeup is going to be in checked luggage it can be packed however you like.

That would be best. You wouldnt want black colored eye shadow all over your white shirt. You'll also have to be careful when you put them together, so that they may not get mixed up. The best thing for you to do is to put them inside the ziploc bag and put that inside your purse-not inside a suitcase.

If it is in checked baggage, no; you can store the stuff in anything or nothing. The Ziploc bag business only applies to carry-on.

Mascara has to go in a zip lock bag in carry ons, and eye liner if it's the liquid type.... if it's a pencil or powder it doesn't have to be in the bag. Lipstick doesn't have to go in the bag... lip gloss does.

Here's the US Transportation Security Administration's website with their list of permitted and prohibited items: http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm If you're traveling into or out of the UK and Europe, the restrictions are slightly different.... metric for one thing, and 100ml bottles (3.4 oz instead of 3 oz in a one liter bag 20 cm x 20 cm (8" x 8") instead of one quart 8" x 7.75"). If you're traveling in the US, I'd go with the smaller size bottles just to be safe, but the metric size plastic bag should be OK. Check the British Airways website: http://baa.com/
