Hi. Robotic welding is limited by the consistency of the components being welded, whereas manual welding is more forgiving. I have seen robotic welded aircraft sheet metal parts that were programmed by manually welding and having the computer remember where the welds took place. The welds were identically imperfect. The robot will repeat with good accuracy just where the parts are welded, even if not in the right place.
