Old tricks o.O ? Okay by woman i mean the female gender referring to humankind and by space I mean that stuff over our ozon layer. No doubel meaning here. If one of the animals shot into space were female well i wasnt referring to them.

Valentina Vladimirovna Tereshkova was the first woman in space. She was on the Vostok 5 mission which launched on June 16, 1963, and orbited the Earth 48 times. The flight lasted almost 3 days.

I bet most people think it is Sally Ride, first American woman in space.
