The way there is full of many obstacles, mostly produced by myself. How do I keep going without giving up hope? Without giving up the hope that I will someday find the answer(s)?

As your search for truth is going to probably be a life-long journey, the best way I was told by Lama Zopa Rinpoche ( a Buddhist Monk ) is to take it at a moderate pace.

Most people start of with 110% energy and zeal, and along the way lose steam and fall off the beaten path.... Your search for truth is not a 100 meter dash... it is a 40km marathon run, you need to pace yourself.

When your search seems futile, taper off a little keep everything to a bare minimum ( but never totally zero ), take a break, and when you are well rested, hop on again and the journey continues.

In your search for truth, even depression and despair is an answer, it tells us how durable we are in moments of stress, it helps us humble ourselves, and it also gives us the knowledge to understand others in the same state when they appraoch you for help in the future.

FOr your answers, all you can do is look within, for your inspiration what you can do is look without, towards others who are doin well to inspire you and towards others who are in pain and despair to empower you towards developing the power of Kindness and Love to WANT to help others with fervor ( paraphrased from Mother Teresa , that was how she did it, Look within in prayer... Look without for inspiration )

Just as you so bravely stated your obstacles are self-produced, so too can your heart self- produce morale to uplift itself. And remember, every saint, every sage, every peace advocate had to face the most troubling moments and the most lowest of times, which they then transcend and arose Strong, Adamant and Unmoving in their resolve to complete whatever they had set out to do...

e.g: Gandhi, Her Eminence Mother Teresa, His Holiness The Dalai Lama, Jesus, Buddha, Kuan Yin. St. Francis, Joan of Arc, Stephen Hawkings, Hellen Keller and many many more such individuals who brave through the worst of times and their stories inspired and encouraged MILLIONS of people all round the globe and through the ages.

Just by enjoying the search, and marveling over the tidbits that you will find from time to time. Of course, you will never find all the answers; but you can revel in the ones that you have found.

If you're serious....just believe in yourself.

I've been struggling my entire life with religion although I was raised Lutheran and went to church for 15 years.

I don't lose morale at all. If you're not sure that Gid exists then what are you losing morale for? It's not like you're missing anything....unless you believe in your heart (and haven't realized it yet) that he does exist in which case you need to do some soul searching.

Boy are you asking for it! Remember that to achieve our spiritual victories we will be tested, your conviction is your need now. Watch closely as you turn your face to the challenge, resist all temptation, detach yourself and walk free of this test. Pray for assistance and be sincere, help will come, it has to, you are the one who calls the shots here, as you said. See a Baha'i if you have to know! any more ok? ok.

Dig in and persevere.

In my experience, I didn't need to keep up my morale. God sent me great friends to aid my search for him and to encourage me.

Keep reading the Bible. It is loaded with positive, up-lifting and motivational verses. For example, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
