If you are of Asian origin the answer is simple. Over the centuaries Asians used tea to flavour the water they drank in order to mask the bad taste of the water available to them. Nowhere in the world that suffered from large human occupancy had any means of purifying water, so the bad taste was masked. The Asians put leaves into their water to form tea, the Europeans fermented their water with hops, grain and yeast to form ale. I believe that the Europeans had a head start in brewing alcohol, and there are stories that support this to the effect that Europeans have a gene that supports the consumption of alcohol. After 2 beers the average Japanese or Chinese guy sports a wonderful red face. The average caucasian does not have this problem.
Now, if you are of European origin, and not Asian, that would be a different story. About 3-20% of all caucasians suffer from a facial coloring disease called Acne Rosacia, demonstrated by the reddening of the face. You take your geographical beginnings and takes your choice!!

It's because some people just don't have the emzynes the break down the alcohol just like me. the only way to reduce this, is by drinking more so your body can build up a tolerance.

It's because alcohool actually slows down your breathing so you end up with less oxygen in your lungs and blood stream with boosts your blood pressure just a bit and turns your face red because your heart is sending more blood to your brain to compensate for the lack of oxygen..you can do the same thing by sitting with your head between your legs for five minutes and then sit up straight fast..and watch how fast your face turns red..when you are hunched over your diaphram cannot fully expand so you can't get a full breath of air ..so it's the same as drinking a few beers or shots of booze..

Alcohol causes blood vessels, especially those near the skin, to expand slightly. This is what makes a person look redder. This is also why it is dangerous to drink alcohol when you are in a very cold environment. You feel warm initially, but then because of the extra blood flow near the skin, you lose heat quickly. This makes frostbite or even freezing to death a real danger.

Totally agree with John.
Turning red while drinking has nothing to do with alcohol addiction or alcoholism.

This is probably because of rosacia. Drinking, spicy foods and other triggers will cause a bright redness to your face and sometimes to the neck and upper chest. It does not mean that you are an alcoholic.

it could also be an allergic reaction.
I go really red in the face and neck from drinking certain brands of wine and bubbles and I've been told that it is an allergic reaction to the preservatives in the alcohol.
I take antihestamines to reduce this.

It's a reaction alcohol has on your body. I don't think you can reduce it. Your best bet would be to not drink heavy.
