A real Christian does not worship a picture. I am not sure what picture you are talking about , but Jesus is as each one of us imagines in their own mind. So the painter just has a conception of how they think Jesus looks and they paint it. I would not take it so serious or let it bother me. It is just one persons conception of how they think that Jesus looks. I personally think that Jesus does not have a skin color. When we get to heaven that will not matter. Just like it should not matter now.

Christians do not pray TO the picture... the picture is a reminder of Jesus.

BuT i figure the bearded man's image was extracted from the alleged "shroud" that was said to have Jesus' image imprinted on it.

Well... any picture of any divinity would only be an artists impression of it, if it works to gain faith, I dont see why not...

Some people even prefer the image of Buddy Christ ( from the movie "Dogma" I think)

Race is relevant today, so we try to make it relevant when speaking about Jesus. Most of the paintings of Jesus that survive today are from the Renaissance period, it would seem natural that He would be painted or sculpted with a familiar likeness... Today people like to point out that he was not Anglo Saxon. Well of course he wasn't. He was a first century Hebrew and would have looked like every other Hebrew of that time. Many Jews of today look white, but that is because of the constant displacement they endured and blending with Europeans. Travel to Israel today, and you will see plenty of Jews that have not mixed with Europeans and you will get a good idea of what Jesus looked like.... That said, I think the most important point is that he was not born and did not die for one particular race, but for all of man kind, so in that way he was all races.

Christian (in it;s true meaning) never did worship images nor pictures.

These people must be pagans...or maybe some people must be educated on what really the word "christian" truly meant. This word is indeed a very delicate word.

God bless you...
