I've heard that renting a wedding gown can be much more affordable, and that you can get a beautiful gown. Anybody have any personal experience, either good or bad? Thanks!

That's the normal way of do it in Taiwan. It's great because you can get a gown that would give you an instant heart attack if you looked at the price to buy it. And if he is THE ONE, you will never have to use it again. Go for it! You can go crazy checking out the most beautiful gowns and know that you can afford it because you'll just rent it, not buy it.

There are places on the net you can probably get them even cheaper then renting like ebay, Davids bridal always has their $99 sale and Bargainweddingdresses.com also has $99 gowns and if you ever have a daughter or granddaughter they have the option of wearing it also.

When I was planning my wedding I looked all over town at many different bridal stores, can you believe that not 1 rented any wedding dresses or bridesmaid dresses...I ended up looking at thrift stores and consignment stores and they all seemed to be 100 years old and smell like moth balls...I found my dress on clearance at a bridal store for $199 - I then added beads around the neck line - it's BEAUTIFUL and CHEAP!!!! Good luck!

If you want to go really inexpensive, there are plenty of nice thrift stores that sell gowns for much cheaper than if you rented one.

No personal experience, but I think it makes great sense!
I went the cheap route and got a bridesmaid dress in white for myself, less than 150 with alterations.
