For examples when i said negative things about Muslims. They assumed i am a Christan. When i ask why would God do this some Atheists assume I believe in God. I understand why people do it since my beliefs would put my question in a different context. However this is not helpful if you assume wrong.

I find a lot of people make assumption about things they don't understand. Thats why we have religion(s).

What about you how often do you make assumption on here?

I don't know, I've had people send me hate mail assuming I'm a Atheist, a Wiccan, a Satanist, and a Muslim. Obviously people do not pay much attention and love making assumptions.

I try to not assume things about other people and their beliefs. Because as the saying goes, assuming makes an a.s.s. out of you and me.

AWESOME POINT!! you know , I've found that people can act so simple sometimes, and I could run with this conclusion-- If I choose too. That would make me no better of a person, ans I personally cannot take a landslide in my growth of life anymore. So when I feel myself judging someone's question, just by simple context. I don't answer the question, and read on.

Quite a bit, although I do make a conscious effort not to. Especially because I love the diversity of religion and culture, I just wish everyone could respect everyone else. It's hard not to jump to conclusions and judge someone who's insulting and patronizing another due to a different belief.

Guilty as charged, though i don't think it's too often. I can see glaring ASSumptions in many posts, and i do make an effort not to make the same mistakes.

I try not to do that. This site is designed for questions and answers, not dialogue (except through email). When people do not have the opportunity to ask questions, they will be tempted to make assumptions.

I am definitely guilty of making assumptions based on what I glean from the question.

I have also had people make assumptions based on what they thought they could glean from my questions, and I found it quite irritating.

More often than I would like to or am aware of, I am sure. Of course, I notice it plenty on other peoples' posts and it is annoying. So, we're all just basically making a.s.s.es out of ourselves?

I like your answers and questions, and I have no idea what your thoughts are regarding religion. It really doesn't matter... you think, and that matters.

I see that all the time...both in myself, and in response to my questions.
