Christians base their beliefs on Faith, which is the exact opposite of Evidence. Faith requires belief, which is based on belief in something that has no current scientific evidence.

Atheists base their beliefs on proof and refuse to accept something that is not based upon evidence.

Can we agree to disagree on this issue? Faith and Evidence are directly opposite of one another and neither side is willing to budge on this issue. Can we, instead of insisting that the other side MUST give in on this issue, agree that we just won't ever come to a consensus on this issue?

You are absolutely correct.

I have no problem with believers who ADMIT that what they believe, they have no evidence for and take solely on faith.

It is those believers who claim they KNOW god that I find ridiculous.

Believe whatever you wish. It doesn't affect me nor the facts.

I have no problem with the Christians who base their beliefs on faith. But that seems to be a small minority of them: most of the Christians who come here, at least, reject faith and instead claim to have evidence or even proof. That's just simply dishonest, and I do have a big problem with that kind of shameless lying.

Jeez, Chicky, do you have a sister? An unmarried one, who thinks like you do?

PaulCyp writes "The fact that millions of people have experienced God in their lives is evidence".

No it isn't. The fact that you believe something is true is not evidence that it is true. Of course the way you've worded it is simply question-begging, and when the question-begging is stripped away, there's clearly no evidence there.

As for the neutrino example, yes, many scientists believed that neutrinos existed before they had any evidence that they do. Do you know what they did next? They built large neutrino detectors. The contrast between that and religion is obvious.

Did you know that scientists used to think that neutrino's existed even though there was no direct evidence of their existence? absence of evidence is not the same as evidence of absence

faith and evidence aka science are not polar opposites nor are they conflicting, science requires a certain amount of faith at times

Atheists base their beliefs on evidence?? How can you have evidence of non-existence? That is a logical impossibility. The fact that millions of people have experienced God in their lives is evidence. The fact that some people have not experienced God in their lives is not evidence of anything. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

We as Christians are to boldly declare the word of God. My intent is not meant to force them to give in, but to warn them of the terrible fate that awaits them.
