i have just gotton my first hookah pipe and tobacco, and am finding i like it. it isn't the same as it was at the hookah bar though. anyone have tips for a better taste, and also what is your favorite flavor? mine so far is watermelon.

It takes some trial and error before you get the perfect combination of tobacco and charcoal. My personal favorite is Double apple but there are different makers of that flavor and not all are good. Try the one in a glass jar with a red plastic top and the label should say made in Egypt. As far as the charcoal goes try not to put too many on top because the tobacco will burn too fast and you'll start coughing. Try putting small pieces of charcoal on the edges and move them around once in a while. Also, use cold water in the jar and put some ice cubes in there so it stays cold. If you have a newer hookah I'm sure it comes with plastic washers to keep everything air tight. Make sure you use those because if air leaks from any part of the hookah you're going to inhale harder and harder to get some smoke.

I love hookahs, I received one as a gift from a friend in Dubai and although it's gorgeous, I also think its better when your at the bar. My favorite flavors are strawberry vanilla, and kiwi. Enjoy!

My sister lived in Yemen for a year, and she bought me an antique pipe (there, they call them "sheeshas"). So far, I've tried mango and orange, and mine's by far the mango! I've never been to a hookah bar, so I can't compare that vs. smoking at home, but I can say I love my sheesha!

I dont, i tried it at my friends house w/ my friend + 2 girls, it just made me feel kinda queasy and I swear my farts smelled like hookah. One of the girls threw up all over the place also, it was funny. I think it was a combination of the hookah/red wine/champagne we took from the fridge.

I love it. In Atlanta we havethis wonderful restaraunt called Cafe Instanbul, great Turkish food and wonderful hookah pipes and flavors.

i love it. i don't like smokin at hookah bars tho...cuz like...i don't like smoking with tips, so i just smoke at home :] i don't have a favorite...but one good combo was banana tobacco with strawberry flavored water.

Love it! My in-laws are Palestinian and the hooka ( don't know how to spell it in Arabic) is always out. My fav, mango! I love that it doesn't leave a tobacco smell.
