Don't answer it if you don't want to talk to this person. If you're going to pick it up anyhow, why even have caller ID?

This is the advantage of having Caller ID. You do not have to answer it if you do not want to talk to the person. If I do not recognize the number, I never answer it. I also have an answering machine so that they can leave a message if it is important.

I don't pick up the phone when the caller id says its someone that I don't want to talk to at that time.

Don't answer- that's the benefit of caller ID- you don't have to be disturbed by people you don't want to talk to -- just because someone has your phone number does not give them the right to call you, and vice versa.

Depends..........do you not want to talk to them "right now" or "forever"? If forever, get the phone company to block the number. If "right now", just ignore the call, let them leave a voice mail, and call later. You can claim you were:
a. taking a shower
b. bathing a child/changing a diapers
c. taking out the garbage
d. getting the mail
or any multitude of other excuses, like picking up dog poop, washing the car, pulling weeds, working, cooking, eating, having sex (LOL, that will get them not to call again), whatever................usually if you ignore someone for 6 or more calls they won't try any more. AT least that is the way I am with Avon, if someone doesn't return 6 calls to buy or sell I just throw the number away. These people go off my list permanently, but it's easier just to say "i'm not interested" and I take them off my list RIGHT AWAY............. good luck to you with your business!!!

thats how they lived on seinfeld. no cell phones in reality landlines without caller identity. personlly i cant iagine what which could be like yet i wager in case your vehicle breaks down u pass a organization and use their telephone or use a payphone. now as for the caller identity. i wager theyre stuck having to talk over with them or u can make up some excuse about how u cant talk.

Just answer them...you need to realize that if you let the message machine pick up, they will call again and keep bothering you until you answer. I suggest keeping your answers short when you talk, so when the conversation quickly runs downhill, itll be a lot easier to say "whoops gotta go"!

just ignore the call thats the whole reason of having caller id. it helps to regulate who you talk to and when.
