I have a bet.. 20 dollars.... my brother says that all dog's ancestors are wolves.. and i say that all dog's ancestors aren't wolves. PLease Help... Cite sources if possible. TY

yes they are all from wolves...dingos are not native to Australia so they to come from wolves.

All dogs come from wolves. Its just that different adaptations have occured. Like the Dachshund has adapted to small holes and rabbit nests for hunting small game. And the Chihuahua originated from Asia and were traded with the Mexican Indians, who bred the runts resulting in there small stature.

All dog's ancestors are wolves. Every dog, even the chiwawa and the poodle have a certain trait and instinct that the wolf has.

not all dog are direct ancestors of wolves but go all the way back to time and you will get to them so yes the Australian dog is not a direct ancestors of the wolf but the dog that make up it are.

They're not all from wolves. For example, Australian Cattle Dogs come from dingos.
