They demand its false and there is no proof that it is the tomb of jesus.

But they still believe that jesus walked on water, noahs ark, and the garden of eden. Without asking to see the SLIGHTEST proof of any of these things.

Its pretty amusing.

Serena: There is no record of anything about jesus for 25+ years. Are you suggesting he was born and turned 32 a few days later?

I didnt see much about jesus going to the bathroom either, but seeing how he ate, i just kinda GUESSED that he did.

Because it wasnt written that jesus wasnt married, doesnt mean much now does it?

guraq, I think your missing my point. You are reading the bible as its a totally factual item and everything that it says happened.

But there is no proof of that. We both know this. We know this because if there WAS proof of the bibles divine word. Definitive proof, then every christian would know it by heart.

But the fact that all of a sudden christians are demanding proof (scientific in nature) is the amusing part. Why cant you just have faith that James Cameron DID find the bones?

They pick and choose what to believe according to their faith. If it suits their needs and wants they'll believe it.

Cameron is pandering to the public and his "discovery" will be proven to be just bad science:

- The statistical analysis is not rigorous

- The name "Jesus" was a popular name at that time, appearing in 98 other tombs and on 21 other ossuaries

- There is no historical evidence that Jesus was ever married or had a child

- The earliest followers of Jesus never called him, "Jesus, son of Joseph"

- It's unlikely Joseph, who had died earlier in Galilee, would have been buried in Jerusalem

- The Talipot tomb and ossuaries probably would have belonged to a rich family, which is not a historical match for Jesus

- Fourth-century church historian Eusebius makes quite clear the body of James, brother of Jesus, was buried alone near the temple mount.

- The two Mary ossuaries do not mention anyone from Migdal, but just Mary, a common name

- By all ancient accounts, the tomb of Jesus was empty, making it unlikely that any body was moved, allowed to decay for a year, then be put into an ossuary.

- If Jesus had remained in the tomb, first-century opponents of Christianity would most certainly have found His body and put it on public display.

- Amos Kloner, the first archaeologist to examine the site, said the conclusions cannot be supported by the evidence but it's a way to make money on television. He would have nothing to do with supporting the movie's assertions. "It's nonsense," he said.

- James, the half-brother of Jesus and author of the book of James, the early leader of the church in Jerusalem, was martyred for his faith. Why does James make no mention in his letter that Jesus was not bodily resurrected? When he was about to die why didn't he just recant his beliefs and say, 'Okay, okay! My brother didn't rise from the dead. Here's where we took him. Here's where his bones are. Here's our family tomb. We made the whole thing up?' People will generally not die for a lie when they know it's a lie. Why would James die perpetuating a lie when it would have been so easy to disprove? In fact why would any of the apostles go to their deaths for something they knew to be false?

As I have expected, there has been **no scientific or historical find** that has ever been shown to disprove the authenticity of the bible's history or theology.

Kind of disappointing to see that all it takes is a press conference and a slick TV show for some folks to form life-altering opinions versus taking the time to rationally examine all the issues and dig a little deeper. It is the Macdonald's generation: fast, superficial, and never satisfying.

There are several written accounts of the events of Jesus' life and the miracles he performed. Some guy finds a tomb that belonged to A Jesus, Mary and Joseph that wasn't even in the right location and assumes that it's Jesus the Messiah? We're just supposed to throw out every bit of recorded history we have on these people and believe his hunch?

Yes it amazing isn't it.
It's a faith thing... you wouldn't understand. But one I stand by whole heartedly.
By the way I don't need proof that it isn't His tomb. I know it isn't. I don't demand that it is false, I simply laugh at the claim that there is any validity to Cameron's myth.
What is even more amusing is the number of "Bashers" who run from one hoax like this to another screaming "proof that the Christians are wrong" and time after time these little scenarios fail miserably to do that.
Solly Cholly.

Shake: An interesting deduction but in error. I'll explain it to you. Remember; Jesus Christ name is also, called Emmanuel meaning "God is with you" (rough translation). Jesus was God in human form. The focus need be directed to the "God" part of the form not the humanistic part. Jesus was espoused or engaged to be married (spiritually - the "God" part) to the Church at His second coming. (see: the Book of Revelation, chapter 21, verses 8 -10 ). Here; the word "Lamb" is none other than Jesus Christ, who is being married - wedded, to the Church at THIS time [ future]. Therefore, Jesus, as "God in the flesh" was NOT married during His life, in the human form, during His Ministry on the Earth. Be careful as to what is presented by people, especially in these latter days of this age, to take away from the Divinity of Jesus Christ.

Yep. If it backs their position, they will accept it with no evidence. If it goes against it, no evidence is enough.

Like most atheists, I am skeptical they actually found it. But at least they do have some evidence. They could tie it down really solidly if they got the bones, did the DNA of the whole family and the relationships all really lined up the way they are supposed to it would make the stats a slam dunk.

At the time the Apostles were preaching the first sermons in the book of Acts they were standing near the tomb and no one said they were liars because the evidence of the empty tomb was right there for anyone to see. Nobody disputed the facts. What will the empty Tomb of Christ reveal today? That it is empty.

If the proof that is out there is not enough for you to believe that Jesus is real, then you will have to disbelieve every other historical character that ever existed, including George Washington. Do you believe he existed?

Wow, like, that became scientifically magnificent the way you presented the evidence to us. it truly is like . . . who can say something for your unimpeachable information and dedication to the aspects accessible. i'm only going to sit down down the following and experience skipped over of human intelligence because i eventually met up with someone who became mentally more suitable in all ideas to all of us. And your interest to element in what you're saying is ideal, as i could suspect with those who were before in no way heard from before.

Nobody has offered proof of any of these things. All I see is how silly it is to make a claim that the tomb of Jesus was found and I am an Atheist.
