No. You should stay away from alcohol for atlease 8 hours following an extraction. The reason being is that alcohol thins the blood, it acts as an anti-coagulant and if the extraction site has not clotted properly, this can cause heamorrhage wich my be difficult to stop

Personally, I would hold off for at least a week. You have an open sore in your mouth right now. Do you want to put sugar on it? Most alcoholic drinks contain sugar in some form or another and it would irritate the wound and/or cause an infection.

If you were drinking and the tooth area began to hurt, you may accidentally take pain medication for the pain without realizing the danger.

Just be a little patient...fortunately, your mouth is one of the fastest areas of the body that heals.

Confirm with your dentist how long you have to wait.

I would hold off. I agree that it thins the blood and it also delays healing time. Alcohol can also be one of the factors leading to dry socket. Also, usually you get antibiotics after wards, it is critical to take them if there was an infection present. Otherwise you will possibly end up with an abscess in the extraction site. Not fun! I had dry socket and a post surgery abscess because I chose to do as I pleased (it was a couple days before new years)

No, you really shouldn't since alcohol "thins the blood" and can cause the clot to "not develop" or to "break loose." Also it promotes bleeding, which you don't want to happen right now. Try to wait until tomorrow if possible but if you do drink try to limit your consumption tonight. Good luck and hope I was of some help to you.

Yep, you can. It's the mixing of the meds they don't want you to do. But, do know that although alcohol has a numbing effect, it won't last as long as your pain meds.
