Japanese Straightening?

I have wavy hair that poofs out everytime i brush it when it is dry. I blow it out occationally to straighten it and I love how it looks. I was thinking about getting my hair Japanese Straightened for my birthday present, and I have a few questions.
1) How much dose it cost?
2) How long dose it take?
3) How long dose it last?
4) Can I wash it after it's done?
5) What is my risk for my hair to fall out? I'd say I have relitavely healthy hair, but I have a scalp condition. Dose that matter?
6) How do they dose it take to do it?
7) Do you think it's worth while to get it?

If you have a scalp condition, you may not be able to have it done. No stylist should put any kind of chemical on an already irritated scalp. It will last until it grows out, but every time I've seen them, it has really damaged the hair. I suggest buying a really good flat iron, and the Sleek Look line from Matrix.
