I was prescribed Sibutramine a couple of years ago. I didn't loose any weight on it, and have not been tempted to try it again. I've realised that my over eating isn't an appetite problem, it is an emotional problem so Sibutramine won't help me. I don't think it is an effective weightloss drug, as the reason why we choose unhealthy foods isn't usually down to hunger - its to do with emotional state and comfort eating.

Even in those people who do find it works it usually only achieves approximately a 5% weight loss, unless lifestyle measures are addressed.

The people who achieve substantial weight loss have all changed their diet, exercise habits as well as any drugs.

Unfortunately it is not a magic fix or i'd be tempted to try it!!
